High Visibility Workwear Resources

Come together May 2-6, 2022 to create safer and more united workplaces as a part of Construction Safety Week.  Construction is one of the most dangerous industries to work in. Each May, Construction Safety Week calls attention to the dangers construction workers face, and promotes efforts to make the industry safer, healthier, and stronger.

You might not have heard of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), but you’ve likely benefitted from their work. ANSI helps oversee the creation of standards for a wide range of products, systems, services, and manufacturing processes across the U.S. One of those product categories is High Visibility Safety Apparel (HVSA).

HVSA, short for high-visibility safety apparel, is a type of clothing made with brightly colored and highly reflective materials. This clothing, also known as hi viz or hi vis, can include a wide range of apparel from shirts and vests to pants, overalls, and gaiters.

 Share the message that “Work Zones are a Sign to Slow Down” during the 2022 National Work Zone Awareness Week held April 11-15, 2022.   Each spring, as the construction season starts up, National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) brings state departments of transportation, road safety organizations, drivers, and road workers together to create and maintain safe road work zones.
